We love this modern approach of creating an intimidate time for grooms to be able to view their brides for the very first time. Capturing the groom’s first glimpse of his bride is one of our favorite moments of the day… a moment in time that seems to stand still. In those brief few seconds, no words can describe it, the way they look at each other seems to say it all.
Why you should consider doing a first look…
It’s such a magical moment that once you see each other you will forget we are even there. First looks give us the opportunity to capture every smile, tear, laugh, and kiss. For many brides and grooms, with the flurry of excitement on your wedding day, the First Look may be the only time on their wedding day where it is just the two you alone. A few moments in time for you both to reflect on the significance of the day and privately to share a few words, steal a few kisses, and exchange wedding gifts with each other.
We will be able to capture more images in natural light offering more creative options for portraits. And because many churches only allow photographers to stand in certain areas during the ceremony we may not be close enough to capture the first look as everyone rises to view the bride walk down the aisle. We can also use that time to do all your family and bridal party photographs so that after the ceremony we can get you and your guests to the reception sooner.
If you are getting married later in the day many times it’s dark after the ceremony and this leaves us with little time or light for portraits with the bride and groom. This is one of the reasons we offer the First Look for clients who would like to capture creative portraiture by taking advantage of natural lighting situations as well as the dramatic options that supplemental strobe lighting offers.
