Arrivederci… my sweet Grazie

Her name is Grazie di Tutto, which means “Thank you for everthing” in Italian.

I named her Grazie, because I was so thankful each and every morning I woke up and saw her thriving.

While my 2 years, 5 months and 9 days with her were filled with some scary times,
I am in awe of your bravery through your life’s ups and downs.
And have abounding adoration and admiration for your strength to overcome
the odds that were stacked against you.

Our time together was mostly filled with highs points and I am forever thankful for all that I learned from you.

So with heartful thanks to Grazie for all that she gave me…

Her love and devotion,
Joy and laughter,
Her beauty and sweetness,

Thank you for the smile you brought to my face every day and the happiness you shared with everyone that you met.
I cherished every day we had together.

And while I had hoped I would have more time with you and am heart broken that I will not…
I am so sorry that I did not find the way to keep you with me longer.

Thank you for the gift of staying here long enough for me to get to you and see you one last time to say goodbye.

With sincere gratitude to:
Laura, who always jumped in to help, patiently listened
to me after many a sleep deprived early morning or late evening,
offering support, resources, and occasionally a much needed glass of Vino.

Thanks to my family and everyone who have been a shoulder to lean and cry on in Grazie’s absence.

And most of all, to my very dear and beloved Grazie … Arrivederci, and Thank you for everything.
